Trading card game league software for game stores

Weekly league nights for whatever your store plays. Members join, report matches, and opponents confirm — and the season standings build themselves week after week.

What it is

A store league usually lives on a whiteboard, a notebook, or a volunteer's spreadsheet. Contender OS runs it as a real season: the store opens a league and names its own game — the title is plain text the store types in, and no licensed art or logos are stored or shown anywhere. Players join once, then report matches as they play them each week. Points land only when the opponent confirms, standings are computed with a full tiebreak chain, and at season's end the table freezes and the leader is crowned champion.

How the league runs

STEPThe store opens the leagueStaff set the game title, season length, and points — three for a win, one for a draw by default — plus an optional weekly match cap.
STEPPlayers join onceMembers join with their email and play their league matches during the week's league nights.
STEPMatches confirm each otherThe reporter posts a win, loss, or draw; the opponent confirms it and the points count. A dispute freezes the match for staff — never auto-resolved.
STEPThe season crowns a championStandings compute live all season; at the end the finals table freezes with the champion on top.

What's built in

  • Game-agnostic by design — the store names its game as plain text; run one league, or a different game every night of the week.
  • Match points your way — win/draw/loss values and weekly match caps are store settings, with 3/1/0 as the default.
  • Opponent-confirmed results — points count from the moment the opponent confirms; disputes freeze for staff with confirm, flip, draw, or void.
  • Real standings — match points, then wins, then fewest losses, then name: a full tiebreak chain, computed from confirmed matches only.
  • Frozen finals and champion — season completion locks the table and crowns the leader; late reports and joins are refused after.
  • Public standings page — the league table with wins, draws, losses, and points, refreshing on its own.

Who it's for

Built for game stores running weekly card leagues — one store, one game or five — anywhere the league table currently depends on a whiteboard and good memory.

Questions

Which games does it work for?

Any of them. The league is game-agnostic: the store names its own game as a plain-text title when it opens the league, and no licensed art, logos, or assets are stored or displayed. One store can run a different game's league every night.

What does it cost?

Contender OS is $99/mo per venue for the full system, or $59/mo locked for 12 months on the Founding Operator rate with your first season free. Season passes run $149 for 6 weeks or $249 for 12 weeks, and the brackets-only Bracket Box tier is $39/mo. One flat price per venue — no per-player fees on the monthly plans.

What does my store need?

Tables, and players with phones. Results are reported and confirmed on phones — no app install, and no paper slips to collect at the counter.

How does a league night work?

Players play their matches during the night and report each result from their phones. Points count when the opponent confirms, and standings update as confirmations land. A backstop rule settles a lone photo-backed report the same way the rest of the platform does.
